The management team that founded MedGrup Corporation in 1994, and made it the premier coding company in the United States over the next nine years, has formed Healthcare Coding and Consulting Services (HCCS) to again provide quality coding and consulting support that is all too difficult to find in today.s healthcare business environment. HCCS provides coding support for client hospitals throughout the United States. We offer assistance to our clients with inpatient, outpatient and emergency department coding on both a consulting and production basis. We also provide consulting assistance on billing and business office issues. Our services are designed to assist our clients to process their medical record charts, from patient discharge through the billing cycle, both accurately and promptly.

Coding

We offer both off-site and on-site coding support:

• Off-site, using our proprietary chart management system CodeMed. which accommodates the secure and efficient bi-directional flow of patient chart information between the facility (hospital, clinic, etc) and the coder.
• Off-site, utilizing existing client hospital technology with access environments such as VPN or Citrix.
• On-site, utilizing HCCS coders in your HIM department.

Our coding services are designed to:

• Ensure that our clients receive coding that complies with all CMS and regional coding guidelines.
• Ensure that our clients’ coding needs are met, to their expectations and within their timeframe.
• Ensure that all legitimate revenue is being realized from all payers.
• Ensure that patient charts are processed through the coding and billing cycle as quickly as possible.

HCCS has assembled a staff of health care professionals, experienced in all aspects of the coding process.  Coding Teams consist of RHIA/RHIT/CCS coders, working together to ensure the highest-level end product - an accurately coded chart, from any payer, free of any potential violations.  High speed scanning technology, and daily coding of charts by our coding teams allow us to provide this service in an expeditious manner thereby eliminating any delay in submitting claims for payment.
